Nursery/2-3 Years Old - Kindergarten/4-5 Years Old: These classes offer a variety of ways to learn about God through singing, playing crafts, and stories of God’s Word.
1st and 2nd Grade Class - 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Class: These classes learn about God in a loving environment. Crafts, singing, stories, and getting familiar with the Bible all help these students to draw near to God.
Middle School and High School Classes: For those who really want to deepen their commitment to Christ, here is where you will want to be! Teachers and students tackle real issues facing teens today.
Mary and Joseph Class: This class, focusing on young married couples and singles, emphasizes learning around our faith - what we believe about Jesus, the Bible, prayer and forgiveness, how to live responsibly, how we handle stress and life’s crises, and other current events and issues.
Genesis Class: Made up primarily of couples, this class addresses timely topics through the use of study materials including the international lessons, film series, and books.
Fellowship Class: This class comprised of middle age adults, studies God’s Word and applies it to their lives through fellowship, a strong emphasis on prayer, and support for each other and the church. The class seeks to do God’s work in accordance with God’s will.
Pennington Class: With a broad range of ages, our senior’s class welcomes couples and singles and creates an atmosphere of caring, supportive fellowship for all members. The class strives to learn God’s will as provided in the scriptures and relate it to everyday life.
Singles and More Class: This class invites single adults of all ages to enjoy fellowship, service, and worship with people of similar interests and needs. The class supports making new friends in the safe and caring atmosphere of God’s love. This class begins Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.
Ladies’ Bible Class: This mature women’s class is characterized by its care and concern for each other. The format is lecture/discussion using United Methodist curriculum guides.
Men’s Bible Class: This class of mature men has always been characterized by its Christ-centeredness. Using United Methodist curriculum guides, the class focuses upon God for guidance and direction for every aspect of life.
Children and Youth Ministries:
United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF): Steele Memorial offers an exciting youth program for 6th-12th graders. Our UMYF ministry gives youth the opportunity to experience the Gospel through fellowship, service, worship, outreach, and study.
All Stars for Jesus: All Stars is a weekly club program for children/youth 4 years old through 5th grade. The Christ-centered program integrates spiritual and personal development and emphasizes evangelism and discipleship. All Stars gives girls and boys the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, have fun and develop Christian values.
Girls of Faith: Girls of Faith is a monthly program for young ladies 6th-12th grades. The group meets at different places for devotions, crafts, fellowship, and fun and is involved in several church and community projects.
Busy Bees Preschool: This is a Christian-based preschool offering morning and afternoon classes for 2-5 year olds. Young children must be potty trained.
Music Ministries:
Chancel Choir: The adult choir provides an outstanding ministry to this church through the brilliant interpretation of traditional gospel and contemporary music. Under the leadership of our Director of Music, the choir presents seasonal cantatas and other special presentations.
Celebration Choir: This choir provides musical training for children who are in 2nd-5th grade.
Cherub Choir: This choir provides music ministry to children who are in preschool through 1st grade.
Handbell Choir: The handbell choir is another children’s ministry of the church.
Other Opportunities:
United Methodist Women: Small group fellowship, prayer and study groups meet in “Circles” monthly at both day and evening times.
United Methodist Men: United Methodist Men is open to all men of the church. UMM support the Scouting Ministry and have an annual golf tournament to support these ministries.
Beth Moore Bible Study: A Tuesday event meeting at the church at 7:00 PM, this is a wonderful series of weekly studies and homework studies. This group of ladies from all over the area and from other churches has grown in their faith as they share with each other. It has been so helpful that this study has become an annual event.
